India Pakistan Cricket First ODI At Guwahati

Well done by India, win the first ODI of the 5 match series by 5 wickets and 3 overs to spare. Pakistan win the toss and select to bat first but Indian bowlers were disciplined and on the target. They restricted Pakistan to only 239 for 7 in their alloted 50 overs. In particular M. Kartik and Harbhajan Singh were outstanding and well supported by Tendulkar who took important 2 wickets. For Pakistan M. Yousuf was the top scorer who made unbeaten 82 and butt scored 50. But their other batsman were unable to provide enough to lead them on big score.

Chasing 240 India lost Tendulkar early in their innings but Ganguly and Gambhir carry on without any more loss. Later in the innings Yuvraj and Dhoni made useful contributions and lead them close to the victory. In the end India won the match by 5 wickets. Dhoni named man of the match for his excellent knock of 63 and Yuvraj Singh made 58.

Gayle Smashed South African in Twenty20 Opening Match

Inaugural ICC Twenty20 world cup starts by FOUR from Gayle. South Africa won the toss and select field first. And Gayle continued to hammer South African bowlers. A violent attack with bat from Gayle surprised the bowlers and they didn’t have any option other then watching the ball flying out of the ground. Starting with the FOUR from the very first ball his attack was getting more and more stronger and he smashed 117 in just 57 balls with 7 FOURs and 10 huge SIXES. He becomes the first man to score hundred in this 2020 game and this resulted Polock to become the sixth to concede 50 or more from 4 overs. Seems like this game is made for him a typical Twenty20 inning and we hope for some more innings like this. After Gayle West Indies failed to momentum moving on as they only can score just 28 in last 4 overs and ended up with 205/6 in 20 overs and allowed South Africa to be in the game.

Where are the Indian Bowlers?

Tremendous batting from lower middle order of England help manage massive total of 316 in the 6th ODI at Kennington Oval. Having stumbled to 20/2, 83/4 and 137/5, at this stage even the total of 250 was looking very difficult, they smashed 114 in the last 10 overs. Owais Shah his maidan hundred at the right time. Perfect first International ODI appearance for Luke Wright with fighting 50. And in the end horrible last 5 balls for India hit by Mascarenhas somewhere in the stand.

Every one including cricket experts been critic on India playing with four bowlers, but who are the four bowlers really ?? Zaheer undoubtedly has been exception since his return to the international cricket, Piyush chawla has been impressive so far so does Ramesh Pawar. Agarkar the so called fourth bowler has always been questioned for his ability and this is why he has been IN and OUT in Team India every now and then. In a country where cricket is like a religion cant we find a bowler who can at least control the ball and his shoulder and drop it at the right places. And this caused bowler like Yuvraj, Tendulkar and Ganguly has to bowl in the slog overs.

It definitely hurts being a cricket lover to see a bowler like Ajit Agarkar who has been playing cricket since last 10-12 years who still doesn’t have any strength in his arms to deliver a reasonable pace and no control over the line and accurate length.

India Win the 5th ODI by 38 runs

Though India win in this match, but the fielding was still very very poor. They drop many catches today and was not that difficult. It is really nice to see that they batted really very well. After the flying start in particular by Tendulkar every one batted nicely. Though ganguly was little slower but witness for solid opening partership. And this makes ease for other batsman. Specially in form Yuvraj really palyed wonderful. In the end the set big target of 325 which is not an easy one.

In reply the start was not good for England, but Prior and Bell took it easy and gave England flying start. But in 14-16 over they lost bot this batsman along with Pietersen and they were on big trouble now. Now onwrods Collingwood took on the charge in the rain interrupted match. Though there was very little support from other end he played really wonderful and captain innings. Finally England lost the match by 38 runs according to D/L Method, when there is rain and match called of England were 242/8 in 39 overs.

The series is still alive with England leading 3-2 going into the last two matches.
